Freshie / Parent Group Practice

The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Wrestling Club has restructured its fees for the 2024/25 season.

This season we are offering a Recreational Non-Competitive Freshie / Parent class. This class is intended to introduce the sport of wrestling to both the athletes and to the parents by having them both on the mat at the same time. The coach will offer instruction while the parents help work with the athletes. 

Note: It will be mandatory for one parent to be on the mat per child at each session.

Club Fees Freshies / Parents:

There will be two options for the Freshie group registration (Club Fees) this year. Payment will need to be made prior to starting season or session.

Option 1. Two Sessions will be offered at $200each. Total of $400 for both sessions.

Session one $200 will run Nov 05, 2024 to December X-mass break 2024. 

Session two $200 will run Jan 07, 2025 to the end of Season in March 2025. 

Option 2. Full membership $300. (Savings of $100) This covers the full season November 05, 2024 to end of Season March 2025.

The club fee will go towards the rising costs of Facility Rental, Storage, Equipment costs, Insurance, etc. Use the following link

Tournament Fees:

This season tournament fee’s will be collected the same as pervious years. The specific tournament registration fee will be collected at practice the week prior to the tournament by the coaches for athletes that will be attending.

SAWA (Saskatchewan Amateur Wrestling Association) Fees:

This season, it will be mandatory for all members to register with our Provincial governing body prior to start of season. The fee is $20 for a Recreational Non-Competitive SAWA Membership and the registration site is located at

This membership fee covers eligibility and sport insurance to practice on the mat. 

Note: For those that wish to attend competitions an additional $20 SAWA Fee will need to be pre paid prior to each event or (you may purchase the full Freshie SAWA Membership of $70 which will cover you for all SAWA Sanctioned Practices and Events during the whole season). 

Please ensure you register under the appropriate age class for the athlete which is determined by birth year. Also register under the “Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club”. If you are found to have not registered, you will be asked to not attend practices or events until proof is given that you have registered.

Fundraising:

This year we are doing the annual “Cash Lottery” ticket fundraiser. Each member will have the option to sell up to 30 - $10 tickets. Tickets will be ready to be picked up the first week of practice. Contact Kelly Busch, 306 630-9858. All sold ticket stubs and unsold tickets must be returned only to Kelly Busch.

Tickets must have the name, address, and phone number filled out to be eligible. Tickets can only be sold to people 'Physically" in Saskatchewan at the time of sales. Sask Lottery Rule 8 (e) "Ticket sales must take place within Saskatchewan. Persons visiting from out of province may purchase a ticket if the entire transaction of payment and receipt of ticket occurs while the person is in Saskatchewan." Lost tickets will be considered sold tickets.
